British Airshows 2014
“All Action” highlights from 20 events.
2014 is the 25th Anniversary of PlanesTV – our first “British Airshows” was released in 1989 – and this year’s British Airshows could be our best yet. Two major events run throughout the season with the 50th Display Season for the RAF Aerobatic Team the world renowned Red Arrows, and the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum’s Avro Lancaster tour of the UK.
A new season brought some new manoeuvres to the Red Arrows’ 50th display season along with some interesting formation flights. Farnborough proved that a commercial airliners display can be just as exciting as a fighter with some impressive flying from both Boeing and Airbus.
The second half of the season was taken over by the sight of two Avro Lancasters flying together with their debut airshow appearance at Eastbourne, we also filmed them at a number of special occasions including their flight with Avro Vulcan XH558 for the turf cutting ceremony at the Lincolnshire Bomber Command Memorial and their visit to East Kirkby to hear the sound of 12 Merlin engines together.
With the UK being so busy for us our only visit to Europe was to “NATO Days” in the Czech Republic. We add the highlights as a bonus.
We keep the use of music to a minimum and narration can be switched off so you can listen to clear aircraft sound recorded on location.
