Royal International Air Tattoo 2018
This official souvenir video programme is a superb way to re-live all the action from the international celebration of the Royal Air Force Centenary at the Royal International Air Tattoo 2018.
Flying display highlights include a special tribute to the legendary 617 ‘Dambusters’ Squadron with the BBMF Lancaster in formation with the squadron’s current aircraft, the Tornado GR4, and the RAF’s new state-of-the-art F-35B Lightning II. Another flypast features nine RAF Typhoons in formation, as part of Centenary celebrations.
Other flying highlights include displays by the US Air Force Heritage Flight; the Ukrainian Su-27 Flanker; the Royal Canadian Air Force CF-188 Hornet; the French Aeronavale Rafale M duo; the Italian Frecce Tricolori aerobatic display team and the RAF’s Red Arrows. We also re-live the surprise flypast by a US Air Force B-2A Spirit stealth bomber that had made the round trip from its base in Missouri, US.
In-cockpit cameras give dramatic views of the action during many of the displays, including the RAF Typhoon, Patrulla Aguila, A400m and the Lancaster.
An extra 220 minutes of special features are available with arrivals (part 1 & part 2) and departures (part 1 & part 2), a look at the 103-aircraft flypast over the Mall in London on the run up to Air Tattoo, a participant’s view of the Air Tattoo courtesy of the Royal Norwegian Air Force Historical Squadron, an extended look at the 617 Squadron feature of the flying display plus Flt Lt Andy Sell gives a pilot’s perspective with a talk through his full routine in the RAF Tutor.
We’ve also got 12 extended in-cockpit special features giving a sense of the full display routines from on board the following: Canadian CF-188, Rafale Solo, Finnish F-18, Greek and Turkish F-16s, Patrulla Aguila, French Navy Rafale Duo, PC-9M, Vampires, Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, Canadian F-18, PC-7 Team and Swiss F-18.
