Abingdon Air and Country Show 2013
The surprise star for what is traditionally the first big show of the UK season was the perfect weather – warm sunshine, clear air and some fluffy cloud ideal for great video footage.
The biggest aircraft was an RAF Tristar making a rare flyby Planes and the biggest warbirds were the Avro Lancaster and D-Day veteran C-47 Skytrain.
More warbirds included the only Battle of Britain veteran Hurricane and the legendary P-51 Mustang backed by trainers of the day; North American Harvard and Boeing Stearman of the Breitling Wingwalkers.
International support came from Belgium, the Netherlands 2013 and a Polish Navy Bryza on static display. Military trainers were especially well represented and included a sparkling display by a Scottish Aviation Bulldog.
