With good weather, huge crowds on both days and perhaps the best flying displays seen at Shoreham for many years, the show was extremely successful but we must immediately declare that the duo display with a radio controlled Extra 300 and a real full size Extra 300S was nothing short of extraordinary! Shoreham rivals Duxford shows with its strong warbird content: Gladiator, Spitfire Mk1 and Hurricane Mk1 from the beginning of WW2 and Hellcat, Corsair, P-51D and B-25N from the end plus Spitfire IX, XI, Lancaster, Catalina, two C-47s, Dragon Rapide and Dragonfly magnificent 8 ship of Tiger Moths. Two Me109s (Buchons) led the explosive attack with ‘Dad’s Army’ defending.
Classic jets included the mighty Vulcan, Hunter and local Strikemaster. Modern metal top billing was the Typhoon FGR4.
The entertaining aerial antics came courtesy of the Breitling Wingwalkers, Trig Team, Glider FX, Extra 300 and the Blades team.
