What's on PlanesTV?
What airshows will you be broadcasting this year?
Check the Calendar page to see a list of upcoming broadcasts. We add broadcasts to the calendar as far in advance as possible, but sometimes we may add events to our schedule very late, so check back regularly and follow our social media for updates.
For each broadcast, you have the option of pre-registering. This will ensure you get notified when we go live.
What archive programmes are available?
Since 1989, we've produced over 300 airshow highlights programmes for VHS, DVD and Blu-Ray. Over half of these are available on our streaming service; we're progressively digitising and uploading the rest and adding them to the service.
How do I search the archive?
You have two main options. The first is to search the website with a keyword, such as an airshow name or year.
The second option is to use our filters. Head to the Catalog page, click Filters, and use the Year and Event filters to sort our shows. Use the Programme Type filter to sort results by type: live broadcast replays, highlights films (DVD/VHS/Blu-Ray/on demand products recapping a specific show), year-end reviews (programmes such as 'British Airshows' and 'European Airshows') and aircraft documentaries (programmes focussing on specific aircraft types, such as the Vulcan).
Alternatively, head to the Catalog page, click Filters, and use the Category filter. You can use this to select new releases, archive favourites (a curated selection of our most popular archive films) or playlists (a series of linked programmes).
What are 'special features'?
This is the bonus content that would traditionally have accompanied a main programme on one of our DVDs or Blu-Rays.
Special features include behind-the-scenes featurettes, interviews, uncut cockpit recordings and additional material from arrival/rehearsal days.
To find our special features, visit the Catalog and click Filters. Select the special features filter under programme type.
What is the Community?
Anyone with a PlanesTV account can be part of the Community - even if you don't have an active subscription.
This is our own private social network, where we'll post updates about programmes and broadcasts, and you can share photos, ask us questions or make requests.
Can I take a look before buying a subscription?
Yes! You do not need an account to be able to search our archives and calendar. Just click Catalog in the top navigation menu, and use the filteres to browse all our available work. Most videos have a short trailer or teaser that you can watch without having to sign up. You can also click the Calendar tab to see a selection of our upcoming releases and live broadcasts.
Periodically, we may also offer the chance to take out a 24 hour free trial.

How to watch PlanesTV
Can I watch on my TV?
Both Chromecast and Airplay are compatible with our site.
To use Chromecast: Open a video on your phone, tablet or computer using Google Chrome. Locate the Chromecast icon in the bottom right corner of the video you want to cast. Click the icon and select the correct Chromecast from the pop-up in your browser.
To use AirPlay: Open the video on your apple device and click the AirPlay icon in the bottom left corner.
If your TV doesn't have built-in Chromecast or AirPlay support, then you can of course purchase a plug-and-play casting device, such as as an HDMI Chromecast dongle, to add this capability.
We do not support TV browsers or gaming console browsers. Instead, we recommend using Chromecast or AirPlay.
Can I watch on my phone or tablet?
Yes!
Download the PlanesTV app to watch our content on a mobile device, and get notified when we post an update or go live.
If you don't want to get the app, you don't need to; our website adapts to all the main phone and tablet internet browsers, so you can watch our content anywhere, without having to install anything.
Which internet browsers are supported?
While we recommend using the latest version of Google Chrome, we also support any Firefox and Safari browser released within the last five years. You may experience playback issues when using an out of date browser or any version of Internet Explorer.
We do not support TV browsers or gaming console browsers. Instead, we recommend using Chromecast or AirPlay.
My video does not play smoothly. How can I fix this?
Video playback depends on several factors. To improve your playback experience, make sure you have a fast, stable internet connection. We recommend using the most recent version of Chrome, Firefox, or Safari - or our mobile app. You may experience playback issues with outdated devices and browsers.
I'm paying for a subscription. Why can I only watch trailers, not full programmes?
Customers who are not logged in, or who are using an account without an active subscription, will only be able to view trailers for programmes and live broadcasts.
If you are logged in, and you are paying for a subscription, but you only see trailers, then the most common explanation is that you have multiple accounts, of which only one has an active subscription.
To check if you are logged into an account with an active subscription, click Dashboard or My Account on the top nagivation window. Select the Purchases tab. If you have an active subscription, this will be shown here, and you should also be able to access all our content. If you do not have an active subscription, this will be denoted by the message: "You don't have an active membership." Thus, the website will only allow you to view trailers.
If you see this message, yet you are making subscription payments to us, then the chances are that you have a another PlanesTV account associated with a different email address - and your subscription is linked to this other account.
Your account
I'm having trouble logging in; what should I do?
There are two ways to log in to your account on our website.
The default method is the Magic Link. Click Sign In, then enter your email address and click Sign in with email. You do not need to use your password. You may now close this tab. Nagivigate to your email account and you should recieve an email with the subject line 'Sign In the PlanesTV'. Usually, this email arrives within a few seconds, but it may occasionally take longer. Open the email and click Sign In. The Catalog page of our website will now open in a new tab and you will be signed in.
If you don't have access to your email, then you can sign in using a password instead. Click Sign In, then click Sign in with password. Enter your email address and password, then click Sign In. You will now be signed in and redirected to the Catalog page of our website.
If these methods do not work, then please check that you are entering the correct email address. When we are contacted by a customer who is having trouble signing in, it is most often because they have multiple email addresses, and they are trying to sign in with an email address that is not associated with their PlanesTV account.
How do I reset my password?
On the login page, click Forgot Password, enter the email associated with your account, and click Send Instructions. The instruction email will arrive in your inbox shortly. In the instruction email, click Reset Password and you will be directed to select a new password before being redirected to the catalog page.
How do I change my password?
Once signed into your account, you can change your password by clicking My Account or Dashboard from the top navigation menu. Scroll down to the Password section and click Set New Password. Follow the prompts to enter your current password and the new password, then click Save Changes.
How do I change my email address?
Once signed into your account, you can change your password by clicking My Account or Dashboard from the top navigation menu. Edit your email and click Save Changes.
Will my account be deleted if I cancel my subscription?
No. If you cancel your subscription, your account will remain intact. You'll still be able to post in the Community and browse the archive, but you won't be able to watch any feature-length programmes.
To re-instate a subscription on a dormant account, log in and click Dashboard or My Account on the top nagivation window. Select the Purchases tab, choose from one of the subscription options and complete the payment process as normal.
If your subscription was cancelled before May 2024 and you haven't used your account since, then you may need to set up a new one.
I'm listed as having 'Founder' membership. What does this mean?
Founder membership is the term we use for long-standing subscribers who migrated from our previous subscription service, which was phased out in May 2024. Founder members maintain the same access and pricing that they signed up for on the previous website.
You will lose your 'Founder' status if you cancel your subscription and rejoin at a later date.
Billing and payment
How do I use a discount code?
Periodically, we may offer discounts and promotions, or discounted access may be sold by a third party. You should be given a code to activate your subscription.
Often, you will be provided with a direct link which will take you to the checkout with the discount already applied. If this doesn't happen, you can add the discount manually.
Click Join Now and choose a membership package, ignoring the advertised price. You will be asked to set up an account. Proceed to payment details, and click Enter Coupon/Gift Code. Type in your code and click Apply. You will now be shown the discounted price.
If there is anything left to pay, you will be prompted to enter your credit/debit card details. Then click Buy Now to complete the transaction.
May credit card is being declined. Why is that?
Many credit/debit cards have online purchase restrictions. If your card is being declined, please contact your credit card company to let them know the purchase you would like to make is valid. Also, certain credit/debit cards do not allow for recurring subscription billing, and therefore, may be denied.
How do I update my billing information?
Once signed into your account, you can update your billing information by clicking My Account or Dashboard from the top navigation menu. Select Billing and update your billing information.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Once signed into your account, you can cancel your recurring subscription by clicking My Account or Dashboard from the top navigation menu. Select Purchases and locate your subscription plan. From here, you can change or cancel your subscription.
Can I swap between a monthly and annual subscription?
Yes! If you're a long-standing monthly subscriber, then you may like to switch to our annual package, which works out cheaper over the course of an entire year.
Sign in and click My Account or Dashboard from the top navigation menu. Select Purchases. Here, you will be shown your current package, and all other available packages. From here, you can cancel or change your access.
